St. Bernard's Charitable KIDZ
Our parish has been very conscious of the war going on in the Ukraine. Our neighbors are members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and they have been providing aid for an orphanage in Lviv, Ukraine which is caring for children disabled or orphaned in the war. On Super Bowl Sunday, our KIDZ stood at the front of church with their soup pots and collected almost $8000. On March 4th, we delivered our check to St. Michael's, we prayed for their country, and spent time hearing about the costs of… -
Humble Pie Challenge
One of our youth leaders issued a challenge to the youth that for every person who brought in items designated by the food bank as a current need (which ended up being cake mixes and coffee) she would donate $5 to the food bank. If any of those persons went up to her and stated "I really think the Steelers should be in this Super Bowl," or "it's just not a Super Bowl without the Steelers!", she would double the donation for that person to $10. Two people were brave enough to utter those words… -
Flying to New Heights
Each year the children collect the soup cans and any monetary donations before church service begins. Then we build a soup can sculpture. This year the child made an airplane which was open in the center so they could take turns "flying" the plane and posing for pictures. Each year it's fun to see what they want to build with the cans. We are blessed to have a congregation that supports our children in their outreach efforts. -
A SUPER "Souper Bowl"
A SUPER "Souper" Bowl Sunday was celebrated at Peace Presbyterian Church on February 12 which coincided with the Super Bowl! The Fellowship Hall was decorated by Phyliss Freeman and Paula McMillian with a football theme which included a referee's table, Kansas City Chiefs' and Philadelphia Eagles' side. There were footballs and snacks everywhere, whistles were blown and a soup and sandwich meal was served. Everyone was asked to wear a shirt representing their favorite sports team (pro… -

Random Act of Kindness
One of our members gave a $5.00 bill with a note attached. "May God multiply this gift 100 fold! This $5 is very special. When our extended family was on vacation near Orlando, three little children came up to me and said, 'We'd like you to have this $5 because we want to do a random act of kindness!' I promised them I would make sure it will be a blessing." -
Cheerful Helpers
Our youth passed out flyers in the neighborhood the Sunday before the Super bowl asking neighbors to leave the cans on their porch and on Game Day we went back and collected. The youth also stood at the alter to collect monetary donations as well.
On February 20, 2023 we went to drop off our donations and it was a awesome experience for the youth and they were excited they could help. This was a day off from school and they gave on themselves and their time. I am proud of them.

Tackling Hunger in Many Ways
We really strive to make the Souper Bowl of Caring a whole parish community event. We begin by having families stand at the doors of the Church after all Masses on Super Bowl weekend to collect donations of Food and Money for Martha's Kitchen and the Parish Food Shelf. We talk about Hunger Awareness in class, and then we take any Middle and High School Youth to Martha's Kitchen in the afternoon to prep meals for the coming week. Every student is asked to bring an item to contribute towards the… -

2023 Shift
For the past 25+ years, middle school and high school students have taken care of the Souper Bowl collection at UHPC, but with our demographic changing we didn't have the teenage manpower. So our elementary group, THE BIBLE CREW, took over this year and did a wonderful job! -
SOUPer Bowl of Caring
We hosted a soup lunch after church. We had a competition between the men and women to see who could bring the most items. -
29 years and counting!
This was our 29th year of participation in the Souper Bowl, and we reached a new record total between cash ($165) and food items (75). The Salvation Army appreciates all of this to help them with stocking the pantry in the winter months. -

Collection
We are a very small Country Church. We only have 3 young people. Two were not here today so our 6 year old did the collection. We were only about 25 in attendance. Even though we are small we are glad to do this every year. -
20 years!
Cornerstone Community Church celebrated 20 years of Souper Bowl! We collected $100.00 and 120 canned goods, all of which were donated to the Rensselaer UMC Food Giveaway. Kiley Introduces You to Rising TIDE, a mission of Covenant Presbyterian Church!
Rising TIDE has many students in its program and we spend a lot of time baking, playing outside, doing homework, and playing games on the computer. My favorite part of the program is talking to my friends and working on homework with tutors and staff. We offer healthy snacks everyday for free for all the students, and we need to pay a small fee if we want junk food :). We give free groceries to families every Monday and Thursday (if needs arise on other days, we are there to meet their needs).… -
Souper Bowl of Caring
Each year, around the time of the Super Bowl football game, Souper Bowl of Caring mobilizes youth to collect dollars and cans for hunger-relief organizations in their local communities. 100% of the money they collect goes directly to the charity their choice. None of the money comes to our national headquarters.
They rely on donations from caring people like you to help us grow this movement, maximizing every dollar donated to Souper Bowl of Caring for administrative expenses.

We take hunger seriously!
Our children and youth have committed to beating hunger for years by participating in Souper Bowl of Caring. Grace Church in Kittanning PA has done much to combat hunger in our community. This year's collection will be donated to the Food Bank in our very own church. We also plan to donate money to the folks preparing a meal for visitors volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
