2022 Souper Bowl of Caring
Our Souper Bowl of Caring event was a Super Bowl success. Our Youth Group collected, counted and prepared for delivery 1,019 food items and $1,938.28 in monetary donations. It was truly amazing to see all that was donated. We were also able to predict the winner of the Big Game by more money being placed in the soup pot for the LA Rams then was was placed in the soup pot for the Cincinnati Bengals. This was a fun event enjoyed by all workers, helpers and all who donated. -

Cooke County 4-H Expands Goals for 2021 Souper Bowl Campaign
The inspiration for the 2021 #tacklehunger campaign seemed to be born immediately after the Super Bowl of 2020.
Why not invite the cooperation of an actual NFL player. Perhaps one who hails from our hometown!
Cooke Co 4-H is pleased to partner with Mr. David Moore of the Seattle Seahawks organization in generating buzz about the 2021 Souper Bowl to benefit VISTO's Backpack Buddy Program. The goal is to collect 500 lbs of food, although we believe we can exceed this by obtaining matching… -
Navarro County 4H Souper Bowl of Caring Collection
In January 2020 the Navarro 4H clubs volunteered to collect food for the local food pantries. Laura Whiteside led the Collins Catholic School Discovery 4H club and the Emhouse 4H clubs collections. The Catholic School club made posters and collected at the school the week before Super Bowl. Emhouse 4H and Frost 4H were given permission to collect at the Corsicana Brookshire's Food Store on Saturday before the Sunday game. Our project: teens supporting teens
The Soup Bowl of Caring project was held on February 1 and 2 to raise money to support a meal at the Huckleberry House. In the end we raised $1262.00, minus $60 for supplies. In addition, we used $249.72 of $250.00 that was from a Thrivent Action Team Impact Card to support this project. So, the grand total raised was $1202.00. We sold homemade soups, sub sandwiches, and snack mixes on Super Bowl Sunday before, in-between and after services. Our youth and youth leaders solicited our youth… -

2020 Souper Bowl of Caring
Our church group collected food items as well as monetary donations. This year we had two football helmets for collecting monetary donations. One helmet represented the San Francisco 49ers and the other helmet represented the Kansas City Chiefs. Church members were asked to place their monetary donations in the helmet of the team they felt would win the Super Bowl. The results were that more money was placed in the Kansas City Chiefs helmet. Our church predicted that the Kansas City… -

New Life in Christ Lutheran Church
We held a Souper Bowl of Caring Tailgate Pot-Luck that was a "super bowl" success. Our grill chefs cooked up some "super" delicious wings and our youth collected money and food items from our members. Since some of our members forgot to bring their items, we decided to continued to collect items on the following Sunday. This turned out to be a "super" success as we were able to collect more money and food than we had in past years by holding the event on two consecutive Sundays. -

A mission tailor-made for our church
First Presbyterian Church in Denton, Texas is undergoing a change--new pastor and looking for missions that a small church with an older congregation can do. If your church houses a preschool, why not help the children and their families by providing needed food and other items? Souper Bowl of Caring is a perfect venue to celebrate God's love and bounty. Our congregation of around 75 members donated 200 cans of soup to Denton Christian Preschool so that on Super Bowl weekend each child (50 of… -

Giving.
I would of never thought that I made such an impact for an organization that I was donating food towards, but I did. Whenever I serve others, I never really feel anything, because it comes natural to me, just as certain things come natural to others. I honestly feel that serving others is a blessing for me, it gives me the ability to change my life for the better. This being so, I love to embark on volunteer activities, because it not only strengthens me, but allows me to see the people I am… -
My Food Drive
WOW! I would have never thought putting a food drive together would of been so much work, but it was truly much more complicated than what it appears. Getting groups to join was not hard, because the topic of hunger is visible in our community and help is needed; however, everything else was hard in the aspect that there was a lot of work needed for a food drive to be successful. Down to getting boxes set up, getting events started to collect proceeds, speaking to numerous people...man, that… -
Fundraising begins
Cadets began collecting money and canned food donations on Monday. They come in early in the morning and leave well after the final bell to ensure the success of this food drive. They have been busy making flyers and painting posters advertising the collection event on February 5th. I have reached out to several news organizations who will hopefully get the word out for us to make this a community wide event.
We have set a goal to collect $2,000 and 10,000 canned food donations. We can… -
Skit Promoting Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday
Our Youth Group did a great job presenting the Skit: Our Souper Bowl Commercial. The kids did a great job with the props and acting. The congregation thoroughly enjoyed it! They were able to explain what the Souper Bowl of Caring is and how we are collecting on Super Bowl Sunday.
