On January 20, 2016 the greater Houston area joined together to Kick Off the 2016 Souper Bowl of Caring season at the Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts of America!
University of Houston Cheerleaders and Cougar Dolls provided early morning entertainment, followed by fantastic music performances by the Waltrip High School Marching Band and the Rhodes School Baby Sonic Boom. Throughout the morning volunteers helped pack boxes of food and completed other hunger fighting activities with the Houston Food Bank, Brazos Valley Food Bank, Galveston County Food Bank and Montgomery County Food Bank.
Several Houston LYAB members joined in on the activities and shared their passion for fighting hunger!
At the press conference Souper Bowl of Caring President and CEO, Clara B. Cooper, announced that the 2016 goal is to collection 2.75 million meals for the greater Houston area. Take a look at some of the highlights from the energetic morning!
