My family sends out about 150 Christmas cards to relatives and family friends just summing up what we've been doing as a family over the past year, and so I decided that since these were all people I know, and who are supportive of me and my family, I wanted to put a SBoC insert in them.
So thank you Brad, Tracy, Jamie, Caroline and the rest of the SBC staff for everything. And thank you NYAB members for being a part of my blessings.
And I've been working with the youth group through the year, and we have 3 fundraising events coming up in the next couple weeks.
To Tracy, Caroline, Jamie, Sheree and all SBoC staff- there is not enough we can say to accurately express how thankful we all are for all that you do for us, for NYAB, for SBoC, and for just dedicating so much of your time to helping others. You guys are beyond amazing and have helped transform so many lives and for that we are so so so grateful

It's made me realize that the God works in ways I will probably never understand, but I do know that he is always with us, and the Souper Bowl showed me that this week.

A bunch of kids are just saying that it is their choice to be homeless. Hopefully I am opening up their eyes to see that it is not a choice.

i can honestly say that reading them has motivated me and put me back on track with things. it's obvious that everyone wrote from their heart and they practically scream about how much we love sboc. hopefully they can have the same effect on others that they had on me.
I went into this year's first meeting thinking "ok, maybe it'll be as good as last year this time around," but wow, was I wrong or what?!
To think of the number of people that have learned about this organization in the process is pretty amazing.
I'm finally going to tell the whole school what SBoC is exactly and get everyone excited about helping our local Sugar Land-Missouri City community.
We had the greatest time and definitely an experience I will never forget.
The collection, which went to Joshua's Warehouse, totaled $136.90 and 263 pounds of canned goods.
Our school had a homeroom race with the winning homeroom bringing in over 600 canned goods. It toal over 1, 500 canned goods and non-perishable items were collected for our local Food Pantry.
Our youth group decided to send the money raised from SouperBowl Sunday to Week of Compassion (global) and the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank (local). Many of our youth participated, banging pots raising donations and trying to get the word out on this great program.
SBoC is a selfless, caring, and thoughtful charity where you collect money, and all of the money that you collect stays in your local community to help stop hunger in your local community.
I recommend SBoC to others because not only do you have fun at the meetings, you will learn about hunger and way to stop hunger, and you will gain 11 new friends if not more just by being involved with them.
Ever since I joined the Souper Bowl of Caring movement in 2007 I think about people who are hungry every meal that I eat.

From my affiliation with the NYAB I feel like I can do much more in my community with the support of the other members and the staff. When I got onto the board I learned a lot about serving, leadership and poverty that I would not have learned with out this experience.
I am part of the National Youth Advisory Board for Souper Bowl of Caring. We help with fighting poverty and hunger nation wide. This organization lets me fulfill my joy of helping people in need.

With the hand up from The Caring Place, now I feel cared for and have hope. I am back at work and things are starting to stabilize. Thank you for everything!"

My experience with Souper Bowl has helped me to become more confident in myself.
